Chicagoland Fall Fun - Our 5 Top Favorite Fall Spots!

 
 

One of the most fun parts about fall in Chicago and its surrounding areas are the fall festivals and farms opening up! There are tons of fun activities going on throughout the end of October for both parents and kids to enjoy. 

Here's Our List of Our Favorite Fall Spots!​​​​​​​​

  1. Kuipers Family Farm

Location: Maple Park, IL

Distance from Downtown Chicago: 1 Hour

Offers apple picking and a pumpkin fest! Kuipers currently has sunflower fields in full bloom! ​​​​​​​​In addition, they have a tulip fest in the Spring.

2. Goebberts Farm & Garden Center

Location 1 : South Barrington, IL

Distance from Downtown Chicago: 45 minutes - 1 Hour

Location 2: Pingree Grove

Distance from Downtown Chicago: 1 Hour

Large, upscale farm with plenty of activities including a full playground at their Pinegree Grove location. In addition to their cafe and bakery,  apple cider donuts, and pumpkin patch, attractions include: a pig race, corn maze, wagon rides, camel rides, pony rides, duck derbys, and even a giraffe barn! 

(We didn’t say we were picking favorites, but this one is definitely top of the list)

3. Lincoln Park Zoo

Location: Lincoln Park

Distance from Downtown Chicago: 10-15 minutes

If you’re from Chicago, it goes without saying that Lincoln Park Zoo is a must-visit during Fall. Their Fall Fest season starts September 30th and ends October 30th from 10 am- 5pm.

4. Richardson Adventure Farm

Location: Spring Grove, IL

Distance from Downtown Chicago: 1.5 Hours

Located near the Wisconsin border, Richardson Adventure Farm offers a corn maze fun, pumpkin patch and amazing corn maze, rides, petting zoo and more!​​​​​​​​

When it isn’t fall, they also offer a tulip festival, sunflower fields, and a craft beer fest.

5. Chicago Botanic Garden

Location: Glencoe, IL

Distance from Downtown Chicago: 40 Minutes

Not a typical “Fall Festival”, but with the leaves changing, the Botanic Gardens is always a beautiful place to take family photos or get out and enjoy nature together as a family!
