About MHM

Built From the
Inside Out.

A Note From Alison

After fifteen years in private homes and hundreds of placements — this is what I know:

I have watched families pass on exceptional candidates because they had not worked in a home as large or small as theirs, or because they seemed reserved in an interview, or because something on paper did not match a mental image formed before the meeting. And I have watched those same families return months later, having hired someone who interviewed beautifully and left before the year was out.

The resume tells you what someone has done. It does not tell you how they move through a household, how they read a room, or how they handle the moments that nobody writes down in a job description. That is what fifteen years of working in homes teaches you — and it is the understanding this agency was built on.

I came to this work from two directions at once — years inside private homes, and a formal background in recruitment. Working in private homes gave me a firsthand understanding of what exceptional private service actually looks like, not in theory but in practice, in the specific texture of a well-run household. The recruitment background gave me a methodology: a systematic way of evaluating candidates that goes beyond intuition and produces placements that hold.

My Household Managed exists in the space between those two things. We work with a small number of families at any given time — not because we cannot handle more, but because doing this right requires it.

How This Agency Came to Exist

Two careers.
One methodology.

My Household Managed was founded by someone who worked in private homes before placing anyone in them. That experience — combined with a formal background in recruitment — is the foundation of every search we conduct.

Most placement decisions are made through intuition and pattern recognition. Ours are made through a methodology built specifically for this industry — one that evaluates not only what a candidate has done, but how they think, how they adapt, and whether their character is the right match for a specific household's rhythms and standards.

We connect established families, private principals, and family offices with career private service professionals for long-term placements. Our focus is not simply filling roles — it is building working relationships that both parties are grateful for.

How We Work

The standards every placement
is held to.

These are not aspirational statements. They are the operational standards we hold every search, every introduction, and every placement to — without exception.

01

Discretion as a Non-Negotiable

Private households require absolute confidentiality — from the search itself to the details of your home, your family, and your expectations. We operate with the same privacy standards your household demands of its staff.

02

Alignment Over Speed

Rushed placements create turnover. We take the time to understand how your household actually operates before we ever present a candidate. A placement made in alignment lasts. One made in haste rarely does.

03

Precision at Every Stage

We evaluate roles, households, and candidates with the attention to detail we expect of the professionals we place. Every introduction is intentional. Ambiguity at any stage costs everyone time, resources, and trust.

04

Advocacy for Both Sides

We do not simply fill positions. We build working relationships that are structured, fair, and built to last. That requires honest conversations on both sides of every match.

Industry Leadership

Connected at the highest level
of private service.

Alison serves as Palm Beach Chapter President of Private Service Alliance — a national professional association dedicated to setting standards and elevating the private service industry across the United States.

Through this leadership role, My Household Managed maintains direct relationships with estate managers, personal assistants, household managers, and senior private service professionals whose work is rarely publicly available and never found on general job boards.

We are not simply filling positions. We are making introductions between private households and the professionals who will become part of their everyday rhythms. That distinction shapes how we work at every stage.

Access to passive candidates — established professionals not actively seeking roles who trust MHM to represent them with discretion.

Industry-standard compensation benchmarks — current market data for every role, at every level, in every market we serve.

Peer relationships with senior practitioners — estate managers, household managers, and private service veterans who refer their own trusted colleagues.

Ongoing professional development — active participation in the industry's evolving standards for screening, placement, and household employment law.
